When I ordered my first Young Living Premium Starter Kit, I had no idea what was inside. I was only expecting 11 little bottles of oil.
I bought my first kit when I was 9 months pregnant with L. We had a horrendously stinky Rottweiler, and I wanted to thoroughly clean my house WITHOUT chemicals before our baby arrived.
Opening my starter kit was overwhelming. I had no idea how to use the oils or what they were used for. Honestly they sat unopened on my shelf for awhile.
Luckily, my most generous friend is a Young Living consultant, and she offered to come teach me! She also brought a bottle of Theives cleaner (my most favorite YL product EVER!), a couple of roll-ons, and a EO reference guide. She’s really great like that!
I created this guide to help anyone who is thinking they might want to purchase a starter kit or anyone who has purchased a kit and doesn’t know where to begin.
Let’s get the boring stuff out of the way first (a.k.a. the literature).
Just so that we can get to the exciting stuff more quickly, I will only cover what I think is the most important literature. Feel free to browse the rest while you enjoy a nice, calming diffuser blend.
The latest Young Living Product Guide lists every product that YL makes. My product guide is from Fall 2016, and I happen to know that they’ve come out with lots of incredible new products since then. Including an entire line of mineral makeup!!!!! Can you tell that I’m beyond excited about that? was the Fall 2016.
These next two items do not come in the starter kit but are a gift from me if you order one!
One of my favorite resources ever is the Essential Oils Welcome Book. I overlooked this at first, but it is so helpful. It contains information about each of the oils in your starter kit and lots of ideas on how to use them. There is also a reference that shows how oils can support your body and various aspects of your life.
The Good Stuff
The Dewdrop Diffuser
This is one of Young Livings most popular diffusers. All it takes is 1/2 cup of water and a few drops of your favorite oils. Currently my favorite blend is 2 drops of Purification and 2 drops of Lavender.
The Oils and More
Each kit comes with 11 oils. Depending on the season and if YL is experiencing shortages, you may get a combination of any of the following oils: Frankincense, Lavender, Lemon, Peppermint, Oregano, Tea Tree, Purification, PanAway, Theives, Stress Away, DiGize, Copaiba, and RC.
Oils with a white label are part of the vitality line of essential oils and can be used for cooking and dietary needs.
The Goodies Under the Oils
The Sample Packets
I only have a few sample packets pictured, but each kit comes with two of each of the following oils: Lemon, Lavender, Peppermint, Peace&Calming, and Theives.
The Sample Bottles
If you love the oils, you’ll want to share. These cute little bottles make it easy to share your favorite oils with friends and family.
The Roll-On Top
This roll-on top can easily snap onto the top of any bottle to be applied directly to the skin. However, make sure that you are careful! Some oils called hot oils can actually hurt your skin.
And I saved the best for last…
The NingXia Red Sample Packets are everyone’s favorite. They are delicious and so healthy for you! I tried my first packet before bed when I could feel a cold coming on. I woke up the next morning with zero cold symptoms. We love NingXia. Everyone loves NingXia.
Please feel free to ask any questions you have about the starter kit!
